When there is a hole in a bucket depending on the size of the hole, no matter how much you pour in, it leaks out. All the content in the bucket empties out in time.
This can be directly related to us, one way or another. Are you so busy with work that the time needed to sit and reflect on your, day, week, month, year is never found?
How about time to detoxify, assess your emotions, think through a conflict and come up with a healthy solution?
How do you deal with stress?
How about your spouse or children, how much quality time do you spend with them? Are you still in the guilt stage- where you feel you aren’t spending as much time with them as you should or have you become hardened- where bad habits and irresponsible choices are gaining momentum.
The sad truth is that no matter how much training you get or how much you accomplish, if you cannot win at work and also at life, without sacrificing one for the other, you will ultimately crash.
If you do not take care of ‘You’, and those things that are truly important to you, like a bucket with a hole, everything you do will keep emptying out and you will constantly need to refill.
Someone once said that the key to juggling is not in the catching but in the throwing. And so in life we get really good at throwing, soon enough we get our timing right. We throw high enough to afford some time to catch other stuff.
Sooner or later we will get tired and if we are not wise enough to slow things down, take a break or reduce the balls (prioritize), soon a ball or 2 or perhaps a couple, will fall.
I wish I could say that all those balls you are juggling are bouncy, and can’t break but they aren’t. Some of those balls are glass balls. Once they fall they will surely break.

- Your relationship with loved ones
- Your Health (Spirit, Soul and Body)
- Rest – We have been designed by God to rest. This is much needed time for your body to reboot, detoxify and replenish. We all need at least 8hours of sleep, every night.
- Exercise – This is not just for those who want to loose some weight, we all need some form of exercise. Depending on your preference, you can take up swimming, going to the gym, taking a walk, Playing tennis, squash, taking the stairs rather than the lift.
- Reflect – Without this time you are unable to effectively learn from your experience and catch up with yourself.
- Grow – The only way to reach your full potential is through personal growth.
- Have some healthy fun – If you find that you rarely have time to do those things you absolutely love to do, then it’s time to have a meeting with yourself. You are not living your life to the fullest.
- Spend time with your loved ones – If you’ve got children, you must know that they grow really fast. Do not waste any of those years, because you will not get those precious moments back. Your relationship with your spouse cant grow deep and intimate if you do not nourish it.
- Have some quiet time with God – This gives you the spiritual strength you need to live. Remember we are all spirits that live in a body and possess a soul.
